Graduation Rates
Our graduation rate is calculated by comparing the total number of students who began the program in either the MSOT or OTD degree program the total number of students who graduated from those programs. We allow students the opportunity to switch degree programs at the end of certain semesters. There may be some fluctuation in the number of students within each degree. In addition, these numbers may include students who graduated out of sync due to medical or personal leave or due to the need to retake a FWII experience.
MSOT Program Graduates

Graduation Requirements for MSOT Students
The degree requirements include:
- Successful completion of all Program in Occupational Therapy courses and Collaborative Community Events (CCE); "C-" or better required in courses with letter grades, and pass required in ICE and in courses graded by pass/fail categories.
- Cumulative 2.75 grade point average or better and successful completion of all required Fieldwork I and Fieldwork II experiences.
- Successful completion of required total credits, including fieldwork credits, within the designated time defined below.
- Acceptable professional behaviors that are necessary for the practice of occupational therapy as outlined in the Student Handbook.
Students must complete the MSOT degree program within a maximum of four (4) years unless they were admitted with a "special student" status, placed on an individualized program of study during the first two years of the Program (annual update by CAPES committee required), or on approved leave of absence.
Graduation Requirements for OTD Students
The degree requirements include:
- Successful completion of all Program in Occupational Therapy courses and Integrated Curricular Events (ICE); "C-" or better required in courses with letter grades, and pass required in ICE and courses graded by pass/fail categories.
- Cumulative 2.75 grade point average or better and successful completion of all required Fieldwork I and Fieldwork II experiences.
- Successful completion of required total credits, including fieldwork credits, within the designated time (see below).
- Acceptable professional behaviors that are necessary for the practice of occupational therapy as outlined in the Student Handbook.
- Successful completion of a scholarly project.
- Successful completion of the Capstone Experience.
- Successful completion and dissemination of a Capstone Project.
Students must complete the OTD degree program within a maximum of four (4) years unless they were:
- Admitted with a "special student" status.
- Placed on an individualized program of study during the first two years of the Program (annual update by CAPES committee required).
- On approved leave of absence.
Commencement
Program in Occupational Therapy recognition ceremonies take place in May. Students are encouraged to participate in the morning Danforth Campus May Commencement Ceremony. Names of graduating students will appear in the Danforth Campus graduation program the following May if all requirements have been fulfilled by December. The actual degree for OTD graduates is awarded in August following successful completion of fieldwork and/or capstone. The actual degree for MSOT graduates is awarded in December following successful completion of fieldwork. After the student has successfully completed the required Fieldwork and doctoral capstone experiences and all financial responsibility to the University is satisfied, the diploma will be issued and mailed.
