Who We Are
The Program in Occupational Therapy includes a clinical arm, known as Community Practice, to treat and provide occupational therapy services to clients. We help clients whose medical condition is limiting their function in performing activities that are central to maintaining health or returning to family, work, and/or community life. Our mission is to help clients overcome barriers to doing what they want or need to do in life. These meaningful activities keep individuals engaged fully with their families and in their communities. Occupational therapists help people regain skills by modifying the activity or the environment to find the best solution for each individual to be as functional as possible. We work with clients who are referred by physicians, community or governmental agencies, and provide services in the environment where they are most needed, including the clinic, home, school, workplace, or community.
