As a person ages, it’s natural for abilities to evolve due to the physical and mental changes that occur during this stage of life. Often, these changes require a modified approach to the normal habits and routines of daily living.

Our occupational therapists help older adults safely and independently do the things they want and need to do in life, so that they can be as active, social, and accomplished as they want to be. We work with people in their homes, their workplaces, their communities, or in our clinic, and focus on the things that will be most impactful to the client.

While our services will utilize personalized approaches, the following four key areas are services that our clinicians most typically address as a person ages:

  • home modifications
  • tactics for clients with low vision
  • self-management strategies for living well, and
  • transportation and driving evaluations.

Additionally, as the host organization for the Eastern Regional Arthritis Center (RAC), we work together to provide helpful resources for patients and family members living with Arthritis and various other chronic diseases. These resources include access to various programs and classes so that you can learn new ways to live your life and stay active, including new exercises, ways to reduce fatigue and pain, how to manage medications, and even how to decrease your doctor visits.

If you or someone you love could benefit from our team’s expertise on managing changes as a result of the aging process, please contact us for more information.
