Introduction to OT Mini-Course Registration

We enjoy sharing knowledge, skills and insights about the occupational therapy (OT) profession, which makes vital contributions to health and quality of life. OT’s motto is “live life to the fullest.” We have designed this Intro to OT mini-course to help you understand how we bring that motto to life. Last summer, we had tremendously positive feedback about this course so we are offering it again this summer.

Our mini-course will be offered three times in July, June and August and are delivered virtually via Zoom. You may sign up for one of these three sessions.

Course Content:

Day one addresses what OTs mean by occupation and how we address it in our practice.

Day two discusses environment: how can the environment enable participation or create barriers, and how can OT change environments so people can “live life to the fullest.”

Day three provides examples of OT across the lifespan and in a variety of settings.

Day four consists of a panel of students sharing their backgrounds, why they chose OT, and what it’s like to be an OT student - their challenges, favorite experiences and career plans.

We will send you more information and the Zoom link soon after you register. Class size is limited to 15 participants so please register soon!

Please note: When you sign up for a mini-course, you are signing up for all four sessions. If you anticipate being absent for one or more sessions, please choose a different mini-course or notify the instructor so you can join another session at a later time. You will be sent more information and the Zoom link after registration.
