Taff elected chairperson for Commission on Education
Steve Taff, PhD, OTR/L, was elected the Chairperson for the Commission on Education (COE) of the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) in the recent national election, which concluded on January 29. The COE is a visionary group that identifies, analyzes, and anticipates issues in education. It generates education-related policy recommendations to the AOTA Representative Assembly for deliberation. The COE works in conjunction with the Education Special Interest Section (EDSIS) and Academic Leadership Council (ALC) and has interactions with the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE).
“I am humbled and excited to be elected to this key leadership role for our profession. The Commission on Education is charged with the important responsibility to develop, implement and evaluate initiatives that enhance and support the learning of future professionals. I am looking forward to collaborating with this group of talented and dedicated practitioners, administrators and scholars,” says Taff.
Taff begins a three-year term on July 1.
