Message from the Associate Dean

Welcome to the Program in Occupational Therapy at Washington University School of Medicine. Our mission is to advance human health and wellbeing by maximizing people’s participation in meaningful activity, and our vision is to lead innovations for barrier-free living. Our faculty, clinicians and staff are committed to educating future leaders, generating new knowledge, improving individuals’ health and well-being, and serving the greater community locally, nationally and internationally. We also partner with prominent scientists and health-care professionals at Washington University and around the world to shape the future of the profession in an ever-changing health-care environment.

The Program shares the University’s commitment to equal access, consistent with its academic mission and standards, and strives to achieve excellence through the advancement of diversity, equity and inclusion (DE&I). We believe that the academic environment is enhanced when diverse groups of people with diverse ideas come together to learn and work. We value the input of multiple viewpoints and perspectives to create a structure and culture that supports all members of our community. To accomplish this, we recruit individuals who want to help us create an environment of mutual respect, openness and acceptance.

Our website provides information regarding our research, educational programs (MSOT, OTD and PhD), clinical services, assessment tools, community engagement, alumni resources and DE&I initiatives. Please explore our website and contact us if we can answer any questions you may have. We look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,

Lisa Tabor Connor, PhD, MSOT, OTR/L
