Morgan appointed director of Research Division
We are pleased to announce that Kerri Morgan, PhD, OTR/L, ATP, associate professor of occupational therapy and neurology, has been appointed director of the Research Division of the Program in Occupational Therapy. She completed her postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Alabama – Birmingham and Lakeshore Foundation Research Collaborative in 2016. The overarching goal of Morgan’s clinical and research career thus far has been to improve the participation of people with mobility disabilities in their everyday life activities after discharge from rehabilitation. Her current R01 study, funded by the National Institutes of Health, compares the benefits of exercise with and without active coaching, and how such exercise affects cardiovascular health in participants who use wheelchairs for a variety of reasons.
Morgan will lead the development and implementation of the research mission of the Program’s strategic plan, policies and procedures. She will guide, monitor and evaluate the research faculty, including tenure considerations and developing research training initiatives with and for early- and mid-career investigator-track faculty. She will join the Program’s leadership team and will also serve on university and professional planning committees that will further the Program’s research agenda and cross-divisional initiatives.
Her appointment starts July 1, 2024.
