OT Grand Rounds

Alex Wong, PhD, DPhil, BSOT, will be our OT Grand Rounds speaker on Wednesday, May 8. His talk is titled "Measuring Daily Life Participation and Correlates in People After Stroke."

Stroke can be disabling and may result in highly restricted daily life participation. Participation is a complex, multifaceted construct, and scientists have struggled to accurately measure this construct and factors that contribute to participation restrictions. Dr. Wong’s laboratory proposes harnessing mobile technologies, neurobehavioral and patient-reported measures, as well as utilizing a dynamic and ecological approach to better understand daily life participation post-stroke. His lab will share some of its ongoing studies to lay the groundwork for identifying rehabilitation targets and developing interventions for people after stroke.

OT Grand Rounds was launched in honor of the Program in Occupational Therapy’s 100th anniversary in 2018. Each presentation will have a research, educational or clinical focus on how occupational therapy impacts health care.
