2021 Outstanding Faculty and Staff Awardees

by Michele Berhorst  •  May 12, 2021

We are pleased to announce that Lisa Tabor Connor, PhD, MSOT, OTR/L, and Tiffany Rader, MPH, will virtually receive the 2021 Outstanding Faculty and Staff Awards, respectively, from the Graduate Senate on May 19. The award honors faculty and staff members whose dedication and commitment to excellence in graduate training have made a significant contribution to the quality of life and professional development of graduate students at Washington University. Catherine Hoyt, PhD, OTD, OTR/L, who worked closely with Connor and Rader while she was a PhD student and postdoctoral research associate, nominated both awardees.

“As a graduate student at Washington University, with experience with multiple mentors, I can say that Lisa’s attentive and considerate mentorship is unparalleled, and we are so lucky to have her back as part of the Washington University community. Lisa deserves to be recognized for the time and effort she dedicates to making my and all OT graduate students, experience meaningful,” wrote Hoyt in her Connor nomination.

For Rader, Hoyt stated, “Tiffany understands that being a graduate student and a researcher is stressful and she takes the time to help every individual feel more relaxed through her support. In addition to that, she takes the time to let us know that our work is important. She provides the encouragement we need when we are down or maybe feeling out of place. Tiffany has always been there for me.”
